On May 23, 2024, 30-year-old Eric Martiz Hill Jr. was fatally shot in the parking lot of an Aldi grocery store located at 3173 Denton Highway in Haltom City, Texas. The incident occurred around 8 p.m., when officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Hill suffering from gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
