On June 3, 2024, a tragic incident occurred at a Wingstop restaurant located at 963 E. Irving Boulevard in Irving, Texas, resulting in the death of 19-year-old manager Christopher Martin Govea. The altercation began when Govea instructed a recently hired employee, 22-year-old Marc Leon, to end his shift early.
