On June 9, 2024, a tragic family dispute in Marshall, Texas, led to the death of 24-year-old Derrick Jamison. The incident occurred at the residence on Mitchell Road, which Derrick shared with his grandmother, 65-year-old Audrey Jamison, and his uncle, 44-year-old Bryan Jamison.
The altercation began when Audrey urged Derrick to move out and seek employment, escalating tensions within the household. In response, Derrick retrieved a handgun from a vehicle parked outside the home.
His uncle, Bryan, attempted to intervene, approaching Derrick with his own firearm. Derrick fired three shots at Bryan, who returned fire with five rounds. As of the latest reports, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The Harrison County Sheriff's Office has indicated that the case will be presented to a grand jury for further review.
