On June 28, 2024, at approximately 12:29 a.m., Corpus Christi Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2600 block of Buford Street near 23rd Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Dylan Brower lying deceased in the street, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
In addition to Brower, the incident resulted in multiple casualties.
A 15-year-old male, whose identity has not been disclosed due to his age, was also fatally wounded and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Three other individuals sustained injuries: a 20-year-old male with serious injuries, and a 19-year-old male and a 19-year-old female, both with non-life-threatening wounds.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, and as of the latest available information, no arrests have been made. The Corpus Christi Police Department's Robbery/Homicide Division is actively investigating the case and has urged anyone with information to come forward by contacting detectives at 361-886-2840 or, to remain anonymous, calling 361-888-TIPS (8477).
Prior to this tragic event, public records indicate that Brower had been arrested on June 3, 2024, in Nueces County, Texas, on charges of burglary of habitation. He was 18 years old at the time of this arrest.
