On July 25, 2024, in Lampasas, Texas, 82-year-old Marjorie "Elaine" Jackson Owens and her 50-year-old daughter, Tobi Owens King, were tragically killed in a double homicide. The incident began around 12:45 p.m. when police responded to a report of a trespasser at 901 W. Ave. A. Officers encountered Charles Dougherty, 56, who was cooperative and left after being issued a criminal trespass warning.
