The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office later determined that Rachelle's death was a homicide, while Francisco died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, indicating a murder-suicide.
Just five days prior to the incident, Rachelle had filed for divorce from Francisco, as documented in Denton County court records. The couple had been married since February 14, 1996, and had relocated to Double Oak in the early 2000s, where they raised their three children: Olivia, Leonardo, and Vincenzo.
Rachelle was remembered as a vibrant individual who embraced life in Texas, enjoying activities such as two-stepping and country music. She was an avid yoga practitioner and instructor, and her early years were marked by competitive swimming, which led her to teach swimming lessons and coach local swim and water polo teams.
In the wake of this tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign was established to support the Loconte children, aiming to alleviate financial burdens and assist with their living and educational expenses. A celebration of Rachelle's life was held on September 21, 2024, at Bridgeway Church in Copper Canyon, Texas, where family and friends gathered to honor her memory.
