On September 8, 2024, 29-year-old Cody Lee Webb of Quinlan, Texas, was fatally shot in the 10000 block of Navajo. Responding to reports of a disturbance, Hunt County Sheriff's deputies arrived to find Webb deceased at the scene.
Two days later, on September 10, 2024, authorities arrested 30-year-old William Daniel Jones in connection with Webb's death. Jones was charged with murder and detained at the Hunt County Detention Center, awaiting arraignment.
