On January 14, 2023, at approximately 2:06 a.m., 21-year-old Romeo Xavier Portillo was fatally shot near the intersection of Market Street and South Broadway in downtown Turlock, California. Another individual, a 20-year-old male, sustained injuries during the incident and was transported to a local hospital, where he remained in stable condition.
