On November 12, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Turlock Police Department officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting in the 1800 block of Lander Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Jose Tamayo-Morales of Modesto suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite immediate CPR efforts by an officer, Tamayo-Morales was pronounced dead at the scene.
