On January 27, 2023, Devan Williams, a 25-year-old resident of Los Angeles, California, was fatally shot in the unincorporated Athens community of South Los Angeles County. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 11:17 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 110th Street, situated between Normandie and Vermont avenues. Upon arrival, they discovered Williams in a driveway, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office later confirmed Williams' identity and determined the manner of death to be homicide, caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
In the aftermath of Williams' death, authorities urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
As of December 26, 2024, there have been no publicly reported arrests or identified suspects in connection with Devan Williams' death. The case remains unsolved, with law enforcement continuing to seek leads to bring those responsible to justice.
