On January 27, 2023, Devan Williams, a 25-year-old resident of Los Angeles, California, was fatally shot in the unincorporated Athens community of South Los Angeles County. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 11:17 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 110th Street, situated between Normandie and Vermont avenues. Upon arrival, they discovered Williams in a driveway, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
