On February 8, 2023, 19-year-old Keyon Hicks was fatally shot in South Los Angeles. The incident began around 8:22 a.m. when deputies from the Compton Sheriff's Station responded to a report of a stolen white vehicle at a business on East Del Amo Boulevard, near Wilmington Avenue and Alameda Street.

Shortly thereafter, the Carson Sheriff's Station received reports of gunfire involving the stolen vehicle and another car. The pursuit continued until the stolen vehicle crashed in the 7200 ...
