On the night of March 31, 2023, 21-year-old Isabella Ruiz was fatally shot at a residence in the 18000 block of Gentian Avenue in Woodcrest, an unincorporated area near Riverside, California. Deputies from the Lake Matthews Sheriff's Station responded to a call at approximately 11:51 p.m. and found Ruiz suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where she was pronounced dead about 90 minutes later.
