On April 3, 2023, at approximately 1:12 a.m., 37-year-old Concord resident Oscar Laredo-Arellano was fatally shot in the parking lot of Farrington's Bar, located at 1938 Contra Costa Boulevard in Pleasant Hill, California. The incident followed a dispute between two groups inside the bar, which escalated and continued outside, culminating in the shooting. Upon arrival, Pleasant Hill police officers found Laredo-Arellano deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head. The suspect had fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival.

Laredo-Arellano was a well-known bartender at Vinnie's Bar & Grill in Concord, remembered by friends and patrons as a "big guy with a big heart." His untimely death marked the first homicide in Pleasant Hill since 2021, prompting a thorough investigation by local law enforcement.

Through collaborative efforts with various law enforcement agencies, detectives identified two primary suspects. The main suspect, 34-year-old Hercules resident Andre Barocio Jr., was believed to have fled to Mexico following the incident. With assistance from federal authorities and Mexican state police in Mexicali, Barocio was apprehended on May 22, 2023, and subsequently extradited to the United States. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges including murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and an enhancement for the use of a firearm causing great bodily injury.

The second suspect, 31-year-old Antioch resident Angelo Delacruz, was identified for allegedly brandishing a firearm in the moments leading up to the murder. Delacruz was located and arrested in Douglas County, Nevada, in late April 2023. After extradition, he was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges of assault with a firearm.

Authorities have stated that no additional suspects are at large in connection with this case. The Pleasant Hill Police Department expressed gratitude to community members who assisted in the investigation and extended condolences to the victim's family.
