On the night of April 7, 2023, in Lamont, California, 32-year-old Miguel Montalvo Ramirez was fatally shot. Deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire around 10:14 p.m. in the 7900 block of Wharton Avenue.
