On April 21, 2023, at approximately 11:56 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department investigators responded to reports of a shooting in the 9400 block of Stephens Street, north of Whittier Boulevard, in Pico Rivera, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 32-year-old Los Angeles resident German Alejandro Gomez Medina with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Medina was pronounced dead at the scene.
