On the morning of April 25, 2023, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive male inside a vehicle near the intersection of Alma Avenue and Lodi Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 26-year-old local resident Jesse Recinos with a gunshot wound to the head. After conducting an investigation, detectives concluded that Recinos had taken his own life, and no foul play was suspected. The next of kin was notified following the incident.
