On the morning of July 16, 2024, South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) officers responded to a reported shooting on the 2000 block of Eloise Avenue. Upon arrival, they found 41-year-old Dennis Crowe, a former resident of South Lake Tahoe, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Crowe was immediately transported to Renown Hospital in Reno, Nevada, where he remained in critical condition.
