On June 13, 2023, 25-year-old Noah Martinez was fatally shot in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. Martinez, who had high-functioning autism, was returning home from his overnight janitorial job when the incident occurred. Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire around 4:25 a.m. in the 3400 block of Emery Street, where they discovered Martinez deceased on the sidewalk from a gunshot wound to the head.
