On June 14, 2023, at approximately 8:20 p.m., a shooting occurred near the 8100 block of Center Parkway in Sacramento's Valley Hi/North Laguna neighborhood. Officers responding to the scene found a man with life-threatening injuries; he was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Landon Jordan Otha Minnifield Sr., born on April 26, 1985, in Berkeley, California. He was remembered by family and friends for his genuine ...
