On August 20, 2023, the body of 47-year-old Alejandro Alcaraz, also known as Alex Juarez, was discovered in a U-Haul van in Rio Linda, California. The van was parked on I Street, near Elkhorn Boulevard and Dry Creek Road, close to Rio Linda High School. A local resident reported the suspicious vehicle, prompting the California Highway Patrol to investigate. Upon running the license plate, officers found that the van had been reported stolen from a U-Haul center in South Sacramento on August 17.
