On September 24, 2023, at approximately 2:05 p.m., the Bakersfield Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on the 1000 block of 6th Street in central Bakersfield. Upon arrival, officers discovered 32-year-old Manuel Alejandro Figueroa suffering from major injuries. Despite prompt medical attention, Figueroa was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Kern County Coroner's Office later confirmed Figueroa's identity and determined that he died from gunshot wounds. The circumstance ...
