On September 24, 2023, at approximately 2:05 p.m., the Bakersfield Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on the 1000 block of 6th Street in central Bakersfield. Upon arrival, officers discovered 32-year-old Manuel Alejandro Figueroa suffering from major injuries. Despite prompt medical attention, Figueroa was pronounced dead at the scene.
