On October 22, 2023, at approximately 12:02 a.m., deputies from the Highland Police Department responded to reports of gunshots at a business located at 25496 Baseline Street in Highland, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 47-year-old Highland resident Gabriel Torres Jimenez suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
