On November 6, 2023, 12-year-old Willians Lemus Ayala was found deceased by the roadside near the intersection of Sand Canyon Road and Placerita Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, California. Responding to a call at approximately 6:30 a.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies discovered Ayala's body, initially misidentifying him as an adult male.
