On January 6, 2024, at approximately 12:45 p.m., deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of gunshots at a residence in the 1600 block of Hilton Head Court, located in the unincorporated area of El Cajon. Upon arrival, they discovered 41-year-old Jose Benjamin Lopez Valle and his wife, 38-year-old Brenda Valle, both suffering from gunshot wounds. A firearm was found near the couple.
