On January 23, 2024, 25-year-old Kevin Dariel Bonilla of Hesperia, California, was found deceased in a remote area near Adelanto in San Bernardino County. Authorities discovered six male victims at the scene, all of whom had suffered gunshot wounds; four of the bodies were also severely burned. The grim discovery was made after a 911 call was placed by 22-year-old victim Franklin Noel Bonilla, who reported being shot but was unable to provide his exact location before the call ended.
Investigators determined that the victims had arranged to meet at the location for a marijuana transaction. All suspects were booked on charges of murder and are being held without bail. During the arrests, authorities recovered eight firearms, which are undergoing forensic analysis to determine their involvement in the crime.
