Death by Force

On February 3, 2024, 68-year-old Aristeo Zambrano was fatally shot at his business, Bay City Alternators, located at International Boulevard near 88th Avenue in Oakland, California. Zambrano, who immigrated from Michoacán, Mexico, in the 1970s, had a history of labor activism, having worked alongside Cesar Chavez in the United Farm Workers movement. He later established his auto repair shop, which he operated for over 30 years, becoming a respected figure in the community.
