On February 11, 2024, 14-year-old Javier Pedraza Jr. was fatally shot near the Ellen Ochoa Learning Center in Cudahy, California. The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the 5000 block of Live Oak Street, where deputies found Javier and a 13-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, Javier was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 13-year-old was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
