On April 27, 2024, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Livermore police responded to reports of a shooting at the La Quinta Inn on Southfront Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals with fatal gunshot wounds: 21-year-old Christopher Vera of Hayward and 26-year-old Lizabeth Murillo-Rodriguez of Oakland. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, marking Livermore's first homicides of the year.
