On the evening of May 11, 2024, at approximately 10:07 p.m., 20-year-old Brooklyn Mack was fatally shot while walking near the intersection of Paramount Boulevard and 57th Street in Long Beach, California. Responding to reports of multiple gunshots and a possible suspect vehicle fleeing the scene, officers arrived to find Mack on the sidewalk, suffering from gunshot wounds to her upper and lower body.
Despite immediate medical aid and life-saving efforts by the Long Beach Fire Department, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations by homicide detectives revealed that Mack was walking in the area when an unknown suspect approached and shot her multiple times. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived. As of now, the motive for the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been made. Authorities have not released any descriptions of the suspect or the vehicle involved.
