On May 11, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a tragic shooting occurred at the intersection of Alameda Street and Washington Boulevard in the Central-Alameda area of Los Angeles. The incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left another critically injured. Among the deceased was 24-year-old Amanda Gallegos, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified her as homeless.
