On May 31, 2024, Bryan Haywood, a 30-year-old resident of Compton, California, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 6:25 a.m. in the 2200 block of West 153rd Street, near Bursch Elementary School. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a shooting and found Haywood with gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
