On July 6, 2024, Arthur Sanchez, aged 37, was fatally shot at a transient encampment near the Rio San Gabriel riverbed and the 105 Freeway in Downey, California. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the torso, classifying it as a homicide.
The incident, reported around 8:50 p.m., involved two other male victims in their 30s, who were also found deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds.
One of the other victims was identified as 34-year-old Brandon Lindsley.
As of December 26, 2024, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects. The Downey Police Department described the event as an "isolated incident" and continues to seek information from the public to aid in the investigation.
