On the night of July 22, 2024, at approximately 10:15 p.m., a shooting occurred at the Ethan Apartments located on the 1900 block of Ethan Way in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento County. The incident resulted in the death of 15-year-old Jimmy Walton, a resident of Citrus Heights, and injuries to a man in his twenties.
Upon arrival, Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies found both victims suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment.
Jimmy Walton was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The second victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was expected to survive.
The Sheriff's Office indicated that the shooting appeared to be gang-related; however, no arrests have been made, and no suspect information has been released. The investigation remains active, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in identifying those responsible for the tragic incident.
