Alejandro Reyes Cisneros, a 40-year-old Hispanic male, vanished from his West Sacramento home in the early hours of June 26, 2024, after getting into a newer black pickup with unknown people. He was considered at risk because he lacked needed medication, and months passed with no word to his family. The California Department of Justice missing-person bulletin listed him by his nicknames “Little Al” and “Butch,” and described a neck tattoo that might help identify him if he were found.
On the morning of October 9, 2025, reclamation district employees working along River Road near where Steamboat Slough meets the Sacramento River in the Courtland area discovered skeletal remains around 11 a.m. The Sacramento County Coroner later identified the remains as those of Cisneros and ruled the manner of death a homicide. News outlets reported his age as 40 at the time of identification, reflecting his January 1985 birth date.
Investigators disclosed that Cisneros died from a gunshot wound, and West Sacramento police opened a homicide investigation. Detectives have not announced any arrests or publicly identified a suspect, and they continue to ask anyone with information to come forward as they work to reconstruct how he left home with strangers and ended up along the riverbank more than a year later.
