On August 23, 2024, 37-year-old Joel Reyes Pizarro was found deceased on a sidewalk in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. Firefighters responding to a report of a person down discovered his body around 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of Marengo Street and Evergreen Avenue.
