In the winter of 2023, a vacant home on Crowe Drive in Nashville, Tennessee, became the grim setting for the end of a young man's life. Jonathan Seda, a 23-year-old male, was discovered in the basement of the abandoned residence on January 31st, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. His 18-year-old brother was also found at the scene, seriously injured but alive, on the sidewalk outside the house.
He was rushed to a nearby medical center and ultimately recovered from his injuries.
The investigation into Jonathan's death pointed to a prearranged meeting that took a violent turn. Detectives believe the Seda brothers were lured to the vacant house for a drug transaction. What was supposed to be a clandestine exchange devolved into a fatal encounter, leaving one brother dead and the other fighting for his life. For over a year and a half, the case remained a painful mystery for Jonathan's loved ones, a stark reminder of a life cut tragically short. He was a culinary enthusiast, working as a cook at a local restaurant, and was known for his love of gaming and spending time with his family and friends.
A significant breakthrough in the case came in September 2025. Brandon Long, a 19-year-old from Decatur, Alabama, became the primary suspect. Upon learning from authorities in his home state that he was wanted in Nashville, Long surrendered to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. During an interview with investigators, he admitted to his involvement in the shootings. At the time of the incident, Long was 16 years old. Consequently, he faces a charge of criminal homicide and is being held pending a detention hearing in Juvenile Court. The arrest brought a measure of resolution to the long-standing investigation, initiating the slow march toward justice for Jonathan Seda and his family.
