On the evening of May 6, 2023, Ernest Thomas, aged 61, was fatally shot at the Marathon gas station located at 3465 Lamar Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis Police Department (MPD) officers responded to the scene shortly after 10 p.m., where Thomas was pronounced dead.
