In the late hours of a Saturday evening in Memphis, Tennessee, the life of 61-year-old Ernest Thomas was brought to a violent and abrupt end. On May 6, 2023, at a Marathon gas station located at 3465 Lamar Avenue, what began as a meeting between two individuals escalated into a fatal shooting. Thomas, a Black male, was seated in his vehicle when the encounter turned deadly.
