In the afternoon hours of the Fourth of July in 2023, a violent scene unfolded in Nashville that ended the life of 23-year-old Angel Rodriguez Troche. He was a male who found himself the target of gunfire just as he was arriving at his home on Lebanon Pike. The attack was sudden and brutal, with bullets striking him and causing him to lose control of his Dodge Challenger.
The vehicle, now without a driver in command, crashed into a nearby telephone pole adjacent to an apartment building.
First responders arrived at the chaotic scene to find Rodriguez Troche critically wounded inside his car. He was swiftly transported to Skyline Medical Center in a desperate attempt to save his life, but the gravity of his injuries was too severe. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, leaving behind a mystery as to why he was targeted. Homicide detectives immediately began an investigation into the fatal shooting, working to piece together the events that led to the deadly encounter. Nearly a year before his untimely death, in July of 2022, Angel Rodriguez Troche had a significant run-in with the law. He was arrested by Murfreesboro Police following a multi-agency drug investigation. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of approximately 15,000 pills laced with fentanyl. This led to a charge of possession of fentanyl over 300 grams, and he was booked into the Rutherford County Jail. Law enforcement officials had identified him as being involved with a drug trafficking organization that was distributing counterfeit Roxicodone pills. While the investigation into his murder is ongoing, there have been no public announcements regarding any suspects or arrests in connection with his death.
