Maxime Assem, age 23, was shot and killed on December 10, 2017, in the Napier-Sudekum public housing area in Nashville, Tennessee. The investigation led to the indictment of two individuals: James Gilchrist, age 26, and Montessa Tate-Thornton, age 19. It was revealed that Tate-Thornton, who knew Assem, conspired with Gilchrist to rob him. Gilchrist is accused of firing the fatal shot.
