On September 14, 2023, at approximately 11:48 a.m., Kingsport Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the Akers Avenue area of the Lynn Garden community in Kingsport, Tennessee. Upon arrival, they discovered 26-year-old Daniel Cano-Preciado suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to Holston Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
