In the early morning hours of New Year's Eve 2023, a shooting in the parking lot of a Clarksville nightclub left one man dead. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Darrius Heard. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 AM in the parking lot of Club Pressuh on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
Clarksville Police responded to reports of a shooting in progress at the nightclub. While investigating at the scene, officers were notified that Heard had arrived at the Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville Emergency Room with gunshot wounds. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival. The investigation later confirmed he had been shot at Club Pressuh.
The Clarksville Police Department is investigating the death as a homicide and has been actively seeking information from the public to help solve the case. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward and contact detectives. To encourage tips, a cash reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest or conviction through the Clarksville/Montgomery County Crime Stoppers program.
During the course of their investigation, a possible suspect by the name of Maldonado-Crespo was identified based on descriptions provided by victims. However, as of early 2024, no arrests had been officially reported in connection with the shooting death of Darrius Heard. The case remains an active investigation as law enforcement continues to seek justice for Heard and his family.
