In La Vergne, Tennessee, on the evening of Tuesday, May 28, 2024, a dispute at an apartment complex on Murfreesboro Road escalated into a fatal shooting, claiming the lives of two men. One of the victims was 39-year-old Aaron Smith. The other man killed was identified as 23-year-old Ramon Delgado, Jr.
The La Vergne Police Department’s investigation into the double homicide led to charges against four individuals. The suspects include two 17-year-old juveniles.
One of the teenagers faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, and filing a false report. The second juvenile is charged with tampering with evidence and filing a false report.
In addition to the two teens, two adults were also charged in connection with the incident. Ramon Delgado Sr., the 46-year-old father of the other victim, was charged with filing a false report. Another 25-year-old adult also faces a charge of filing a false report.
Following the shooting, Delgado Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. Aaron Smith was transported by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deadly altercation remains ongoing.
