On July 6, 2024, at approximately 8 a.m., Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 2700 block of Linden Avenue in the Park City neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 32-year-old Matthew Walker with a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts by Knoxville Fire Department personnel, Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
