In the winter of 2023, a violent encounter in Reading, Pennsylvania, claimed the life of 47-year-old Eric Ferrer. On the evening of January 18th, Ferrer was in a vehicle on Washington Street when a hail of bullets shattered the night. Nearly a dozen shots were fired into the car, ending his life. The brutal nature of the crime sent ripples through the community as law enforcement began their investigation into the fatal shooting.
The ensuing investigation led to the identification of
three men responsible for the ambush. Authorities named Jason Nival, Julio Nival, and Angelo Delgado as the individuals who collectively fired upon Ferrer's vehicle. A search for the suspects was launched, and the investigation stretched beyond the borders of Pennsylvania. Jason Nival was eventually located and apprehended in Texas before being extradited back to Berks County to face justice for his role in the killing.
The legal process brought the three men to court to answer for the death of Eric Ferrer. Julio Nival and Angelo Delgado both chose to plead guilty for their involvement in the deadly shooting. Jason Nival, however, took his case to trial, where he was ultimately convicted of third-degree murder. Following the conviction and guilty pleas, the judicial process moved towards sentencing for all three men, bringing a conclusion to the legal proceedings and holding them accountable for the violent death of Eric Ferrer.
