On May 20, 2023, Jordan Scott, a 29-year-old resident of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot during an altercation in the 2900 block of Terry Lane, located within the Trailer Village Community where both he and the alleged shooter resided.
The suspect, 19-year-old Jeremy Osorio Melendez, was identified shortly after the incident. Authorities issued an arrest warrant charging him with criminal homicide, carrying a firearm without a license, and recklessly endangering another person. The following day, May 21, 2023, Melendez surrendered to the East Hempfield Township Police Department, accompanied by his attorney. He was subsequently transported to Lancaster County Central Booking for arraignment.
According to police reports, Scott and Melendez were acquainted prior to the incident, both being residents of the same community. The nature of their relationship and the circumstances leading up to the altercation have not been fully disclosed. Authorities have indicated that this was an isolated incident and have not sought any additional suspects in connection with the case.
Jordan Scott was remembered by his family and friends as a devoted father and sports enthusiast. He is survived by his parents, Barbara Scott and Robert Lebron, his wife, Zarina Arce, and his children, Jordan Jr., Zeyvion, and Hailey. A celebration of his life was held on May 27, 2023, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home in Willow Street, Pennsylvania.
