On the morning of August 18, 2023, Isaac Love, a 31-year-old resident of Homestead, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot while seated in his vehicle on Walnut Way, an alley between East 18th and East 19th Streets in Homestead. First responders arrived at the scene around 8:30 a.m. and found Love with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:29 a.m.

Witnesses reported seeing two men fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting. One was described as wearing a gray T-shirt, and the other a black hoodie. Shortly after the incident, police observed two individuals, later identified as 26-year-old Derrick Devon Craig and 20-year-old Parris Lamont Bailey, leaving a residence in Munhall and entering a vehicle. When officers attempted a felony traffic stop in West Mifflin, Craig, who was driving, initially halted but then fled, leading to a pursuit that ended on Cypress Street. Both men were apprehended after the chase.

At the time of their arrest, Craig and Bailey were found in possession of firearms, including one equipped with an illegal device that converts it to automatic fire. Bailey allegedly told police, "You know I got shot," and "I need to have a gun for protection." Despite these developments, neither Craig nor Bailey faced homicide charges related to Love's death at that time. Craig was charged with aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and reckless driving, with bail denied. Bailey faced multiple firearm charges and evading arrest or detention on foot, with bail set at $20,000.

As of September 2024, the homicide of Isaac Love remained unsolved. The Allegheny County Police Department continued to seek information from the public to aid in their investigation. Community members with any knowledge of the case were urged to contact the Allegheny County Police Tip Line, with the option to remain anonymous.
