A quiet gathering to remember a life lost was tragically shattered by gunfire on a Harrisburg evening, leading to the death of Marshall Vujasinovich. The 22-year-old male from nearby Steelton was among a group of mourners on October 5, 2023, who had assembled at a memorial service on South 19th and Holly Streets. It was there that the solemn occasion turned into a scene of violence.
Suddenly, multiple shots were fired into the crowd.
When the chaos subsided, Marshall Vujasinovich was found to be the victim of the senseless act. He was attending a vigil for Marion Holmes, an 18-year-old who had died in a car crash involving a Harrisburg Police vehicle earlier that same week. The shooting cut short the life of a young man who was there to pay his respects to a friend.
The investigation into the shooting led police to identify a suspect. Later that month, authorities arrested 20-year-old Adrian Jaden Norris of Harrisburg in connection with the killing. Following his arrest, Norris was arraigned on several serious charges, including criminal homicide, illegal possession of a firearm, and carrying a firearm without a license. He was subsequently sent to Dauphin County Prison after being denied bail due to the gravity of the charges against him. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for the following month.
