On October 9, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m., 34-year-old Shante' Lacole Whitaker was fatally struck by a stray bullet while inside her apartment on the 1200 block of Curran Street in Chester, Pennsylvania. Whitaker was seated in her living room when gunfire erupted outside the residence. A bullet penetrated the apartment wall, striking her in the head.
