On January 1, 2024, Uniontown police discovered the body of 26-year-old Franyerlys Nicold "Nicole" Zambrano Briceno in her residence on Bierer Avenue. She had suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was believed to have been deceased for several days. Concerns arose when she failed to report to her housekeeping job at Nemacolin resort for three consecutive days, prompting coworkers to request a welfare check.
