On January 1, 2024, 26-year-old Franverlys "Nicole" Zambranobriceno was found deceased in her Uniontown, Pennsylvania, home. Born on August 24, 1997, in San Felipe, Venezuela, she was the daughter of Juan Carlos and Guiasely Del Carmon Zambrano.
Concerns arose when Zambranobriceno, a housekeeper at Nemacolin resort, failed to report to work for several days, prompting coworkers to request a welfare check.
Uniontown police discovered her body in the couple's residence at 39 Bierer Avenue. She had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was believed to have been deceased since December 24, 2023.
Authorities identified her husband, 55-year-old Arthur Eugene Guty, as the primary suspect. He was apprehended without incident on January 2, 2024, at a Las Vegas resort, found in possession of approximately $140,000 in cash, and was believed to be planning to flee the country.
Guty was charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault. In subsequent legal proceedings, a Fayette County judge ruled that the $131,000 seized during his arrest could not be used to fund his defense, as ownership of the cash could not be conclusively determined.
As of December 2024, Guty remains in custody, awaiting trial for the alleged murder of his wife. The case has garnered significant attention, highlighting the tragic end of a young woman's life and the ongoing pursuit of justice.
